Unlocking Blackberry Pearl 8110

It's a PEARL. 
You could've just gotten it unlocked for free by calling your service provider in the US (AT&T/TMob). I think you can get unlock codes on ebay for a dollar or take it to a trustworthy service repair shop in your area. If you go the ebay route, you'll get a network MEP via e-mail. Enter this in to your phone by clicking Tools-> Options-> Advanced Options-> Sim Card
Type: mepp2
A hidden menu will open: Enter Network MEP Code. Enter your code, press Enter. If correct it will say something like "code accepted".
