Graphic Cards Unlocking Pipelines on 7800GT

Yeah, really. But then I don't think it will be that easy cause else a 7800GT would be indentical to a GTX except clock speeds...

there was nothing to mod in 6800GT and Ultra. They both had same no of shader pipelines, ROPs etc.

Sandy was talking about the core. The core of 6800NU AGP could softmod to unlock 16 pipes. Same to that of 6800GT and Ultra.
 
I don't think this is possible. HKEPC probably got some pre-release HW, but the release 7800GT cards are laser-locked, a la the NV41 (6800NU) PCI-E cards.

Let's see with the release versions.. I'm kinda skeptical.
 
Hardly any difference? As in how much?

Of you Overclock to GTX speeds or just lesser then i feel the difference should be low... GTX to GT that is..
 
the 7800gt ocd to the 7800gtx clock speeds is equivalent to it or beats it when clocked even higher. so i guess if this unlocking pipes works on all cards later & safe to do it might be a great thing.
 
not too sure bout this yet.
the gt & gtx might require diff power consumption etc plus the gt & gtx heatsinks are diff.

so i am not too sure about this. lets see when other brands are unlocked.
