Unprofessional TATA Indicom

I applied for a TATA broadband connection a week back. After some queries on phone about my address, a representative from them came to my house and collected the money for the Quick Power 360 plan (Rs. 3641) for 6 months. He also took photocopies of my address and identity proof.

I was shcocked when yesterday i received an email from TATA broadband that the internet connection is not available in my area, and as and when it will be available, they will contact me.:@ :@

Why are they in such a hurry to collect the money even before getting the area feasibility report?

I did get an acknowledgement slip from the person with a receipt number for the payment. Now i keep calling the customer care and they keep giving me complaint numbers. The representative who took my money keeps saying that he will come tommorow to refund, but doesn't show up.

What to do now?

:) I am sorry about your predicament...This is the very reason that I am still without an internet connection As the only people I am getting are from Tata Indicom.

P.S I think you should tell them that you are going to raise a case in the Customer Courts. That generally works.

Well...people will do anything for sales. Unfortunatly in India, sales agents are not held responsible if the place is not enabled for their internet and they earn a commission on it.

When I applied for a Tata indicom connection, they took 3 days to confirm its availability in my area. After that it was a smooth process and till today I do not have a problem with it. Only once I got the network cable unplugged problem which was rectified in 3 hours.

Why the rep was in such a hurry in your case is a mystery.

same thing happened to me. i paid the sales guy via cheque. its been almost a month now & its not feasable in my area. they havent yet used the cheque though. they will use it only when i get the connection. in the end i knew i wouldnt get the connection, but luckily it was available in my office so i just filled up another form with the same sales guy & used the same cheque.

in your case i think you paid via cash, but i think you will get your money back. should take a little time though.

Contact the Nodal officer re, don't bother calling up their retarded customer care more than once.

I follow the practice of registering the complaint with their customer care, if its not solved in next 24 hrs, i'll call up the Nodal officer. Being doing it every month for past 7 months :|

and hope u didn't pay them directly by cash, as its not a recommended way of payment and from what i know none of these company accept cash, they insist on cheque.
