Analysts say that 2012 wasn't that great a year for PC gaming. I beg to differ. Titles like Dishonored and Far Cry 3 were simply brilliant (so what if they are cross platform, just check out Far Cry 3 on PC will ya!). And it seems that 2013 will be a far far more exciting year. Well then who are we to complain? Here's a sneak peek at some of the more exciting games scheduled to crash land your PCs in 2013, exclusively (PC exclusives!).
Day Z
Day Z is a zombie game, and a really good one at that. The game was originally a mod for Arma II, by one of the developers itself. Nobody knew that soon people might be buying the original game just to play the mod. And thus began the development of a standalone version of one of 2012's most exciting mod-turned-games as well as a Zombie themed game.
Here's more on the Standalone Release:
You can follow all development over at the official DAYZ website.
0x10c
A weird name to go with, this upcoming title will be the next release by Minecraft author (and now millionaire) Markus "Notch" Persson. 0x10c is an ambitious space combat game that plans to integrate space battles, seamless space-to-planet transitions, an open single and multi-player universe, laser guns (ooh!) as well as mining and of course, trading.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2k8QBcaaUM
Something unique with this game is that each ship (controller) will have it's own 16 bit DCPU that will be fully programmable by the user (glad I'm learning about the Intel 8086 now!).
Here's the official 0x10c website.
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is a sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent by developer Frictional Games. The original title sold far far better than Frictional Games ever anticipated and with hurried excitement, they started work on their next title (which looks to give us those horror chills, bring it on!).
Here's the link to the official game website.
Wasteland 2
Wasteland 2 is an adventure based in a post-nuclear America. After having a very successful Kickstarter campaign, the game is in full scale development. Developer inXile wants to provide a modern game while retaining the back-then-popular Wasteland title elements as best as possible.

Slender The Arrival
Slender: The Eight Pages is a game that literally appeared out of no where, with a story of a Slender Man that you must avoid at all costs. The game was an experimental horror title that panned out extremely well, so much that developer is working on a full blown horror title (hell yea!) to bring scare back to you, and some more with improved gameplay, visuals and all for PC.

The game looks brilliant. We can't wait to play this game!

SimCity
Everyone remembers SimCity, and the countless hours poured into this brilliant game where you manage an entire city. Well, fast forward to 2013 and you have a state of the art game that will leave everyone's jaw dancing on the floor. Enter, SimCity 2013.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWLClUwAHGc
EA is promoting this game, and it is only right. Using a new GlassBox engine, one that simulates almost everything in real time, in a world where everything is actually linked to everything else (that's extremely complex mind you), it really says how much effort has been put in to make this game a masterpiece like it's predecessors. SimCity will hit PCs exclusively on March 5th, 2013.

ShootMania Storm
Nadeo games with publisher Ubisoft is bringing the TrackMania world, but with a twist. Say hello to ShootMania. You guessed it right, just like TrackMania is about it's tracks and racing them, ShootMania is about, well shooting on various maps.
There will be 3 different environments, a snow-based environment called Cryo, and another called Storm. ShootMania will differentiate itself from other standard shooters in that it will use Rocket Launchers as it's primary weapon (Team Fortress 2 anybody?). The game will pack the same map editor as TrackMania (and hence, there will be a huge collection of community maps, aka endless gameplay!).

Hawken
"Experience HAWKEN, an intense free-to-play mech first person shooter that is exploding onto the PC scene this December."
With such an introduction line by most popular IGN, you really don't need 2nd assurance for this game. HAWKEN is an indie game that wants to revolutionize mech gameplay in a huge machine filled (yet beautiful) world (maps).

Fortnite
Fortnite is a title by Epic Games, and the first to use their latest and greatest Unreal Engine 4. Despite that, this isn't a title about gorgeous graphics but epic fun gameplay. Again, you will be reminded of Team Fortress 2 with Fortnite's cartoony graphics.
Doesn't the screenshot remind you of The Scout?
In the day time, you build your defenses. Night falls and the creatures strike to kill you! Sounds about right.

The Elder Scrolls Online
Elder Scrolls Online is exactly as the name suggests. Presenting the Elder Scrolls world, in a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game genre. Developed by Zenimax Online Studios, this title will be set in Tamriel and will feature a single player campaig elements in addition to being a MMORPG. Expect graphics to take a second priority in this title (not that we won't be seeing user mods for the title).

To feature ultra modern and realistic graphics with their new Virtual Reality Engine, and near real game play feel (one bullet and you're dead sucker), Arma II has already won the title of being one of the best military sims ever, and Arma III only aims to improve on the same.

Company of Heroes 2
Company of Heroes was released in 2008 and received critical reviews. Many called it one of the best RTS games in the past few years. And why shouldn't such a great game receive a sequel, and that too Free to Play?

Where is the Standalone Release?
I suppose I should start with the question everyone wants to know… where is DayZ Standalone? Obviously, it’s not here. At Eurogamer I said that DayZ had to be out before the end of the year and that’s come and gone. I still stand by that comment, to achieve what we had originally wanted, we did have to be out by the end of the year - and we’ve failed to achieve that.
Put simply, DayZ Standalone isn’t here because we had the chance to go from making a game that was just the mod improved slightly, packaged simply, and sold - to actually redeveloping the engine and making the game the way we all dreamed it could be. This blew any initial plans we had dictated to pieces.
