PC Peripherals Upgrade Config: Some final suggestions

I'l be getting my new rig tomorrow.
Here's what am going for.

ASUS A8N-E
AMD Athlon 3000+ Venice
XFX 6200 TC 256 mb (128 mb on card)
Colorsit 450 W SMPS (nobody sells Powersafe here :huh: )
TwinMOS 1 gig DDR400 RM (512 X 2)

Now I need help buying the RAM. I've read that RAM should be able to work in Dual Channel Mode. How do I know that am getting a dual one. Any specific make that I should buy? And some guidance on CAS values will be a great help.

any identical memory sticks in the specified slots in the motherboard will work in dual channel ....

Yup just put each of the 512 MB dimms in slots 1&3 or 2&4 and they run in dual channel mode. The Twinmos ram has CAS 3 i think. If u can get Transcend with UCCC chips go for those, great for OC'ing.

hmm actually he`ll only have problems if he`s into heavy overclocking..

Get the Transcend 512*2. AFAIK, all the newer batches come with UCCC (3-3-3-X).

Yup but u gotta be careful, theres plenty of old stock left in the market. All the dealers were tryin to sell me the old stuff, with some PCA chips or something. Make sure to check, on the chips its written Samsung UCCC.
