Budget 41-50k Upgrade from i7 7700 or wait?

I was using a 3070 with my i7-7700 build until last month and finally sold it because I was getting low fps for cpu intensive games. BFV - 110fps on lowest.

So I decided to sell it to a decent price since cpu upgrade was out of budget for me. I recently purchased 980ti on this site and just found out that it doesn't support freesync (I have a 165hz monitor).

Now I'm planning to upgrade everything but I'm not sure if I should wait for the next gen to launch. I have no issues with my i7 except that it bottlenecks everything above 2070.

Upgrade cost 50k

Core i5 10600K
Any z490 motherboard
Cooler master hyper 212 (or use you existing heatsink)
8 GB * 2 3200 MHz RAM CL16 preferably
Antec HCG750 PSU
Any boot SSD of your choice (trying to save some money here. If you have money go for NVMe)
Any cabinet of your choice

If budget permits, AMD5600X with a B550 motherboard

Thanks for replying.

I have a Gskill 3200Mhz CL16 RAM stick and a crucial 2666Mhz 8GB. When I sell my current PC I'll sell the 8gig and buy another 16gb ram stick of same spec.

For SSD I have an enterprise edition 1TB (got a steal deal at 4k few years ago). And 2.5TB of 2 HDDs.
And an ATX thermaltake cabinet.

I want to sell my current PC (cpu+ram+mbd) and spend about 40-45k for new cpu+mbd+ram. I can't decide if I should go with 5600x now or wait for next gen. Is my PC bottlenecking hugely with i7 kabylake?

Please for the love of god don't go for a overpriced 6 core 5600X in late 2021. Either buy 3900X(T) or 3700X if on AMD else Vaibhav suggested a great build in your budget.
If you really want a 5600X find a good used deal IMO.

A local seller has offered a 3900x for 25k, negotiable. I mostly just do gaming.

Good deal imo. Pair it with a decent B450/550 board no need for going overboard with X470/570. You'll be impressed by the frametimes and the overall smoothness of the games. Having less and faster cores for more FPS is not what matters. What matter is consistent frames and response times. So trade a few FPS for that you'll still get very high FPS with zen2 along with excellent 1% lows and very good frame times.
Also a whole lot of room for multitasking.

Thanks, he has a 570 for cheap as well. Will try to get a new build. Also how much do you think I could sell my current pc for?

I would advise stay away rom ryzen combos as many combos out of nowhere suddenly start giving issues even when user does no tinkering..
Intel is the stable hasslefree way to go for..
