Upgrade from Nikon L18, which one to opt for?

Hi All,

I have a Nikon Coolpix L18 bought around 4 months ago. I am planning to upgrade and looking at the Canon A1000 IS and A1100 IS. My budget is around 10-11 K. Which other digital camera can I look for?
