CPU/Mobo UPGRADE MY pc

ok.. i have a computer.. Its about 2 yrs old and its configs are

3Ghz single core proccessor
1 GB Ram
915GUX Chipset Intel - w/ Express card slot
No extra graphics card (such as nvidia or ATI)

i have connected my PC to my 54 inches LCD via the existing graphic port with a specailly made cable .. ( THE LCD HAS RGB SUPPORT ). so The tv is connected through RGB

I cannot get a new PC since i am a kid.. for buying a new PC i would have to get good marks in my exams wich is quite unlikely..

I have tried many games on my current PC.. i even got a Nvidia GeForce 6200 LE card but the card was fake n it dint work.. i mean it wored for sometime then occassionally i had to go behind the PC n change the monitor wire to mobo graphics (w/ the graphic card connected.. so obvious.. some problem)

now i want u guys to tell me that how and with what upgrades can i play games such as NFS carbon, Counter Strike, Godfather, and some latest games like Halo on my PC without lagging n fukin..

i have a budget of like 20 - 25k .. but 1 condition the main components cannot be changed.. like i cannot change the mobo or the CPU (i can change the CPU as long as it fits my mobo 915GUX intel)..
since i am a noobie in comps yet .. i wanna know if i can convert this PC to a dual core one with no mobo change .. tht is if my mobo will support a dual core CPU or not ..

if u dont wanna read all the stuff i wrote above just c that

the config i mentioned can be modified such that i can play descent games on my pc ..

I live in gurgaon ( near delhi ). so let me know if u know any shop/retailer wich can provide me with such stuff..

n yea my PC makes allllooottt of noise in summmers.. especially wen i play games .. its like a mini plane continousely flying all over my room .. i dont have any heat sink shit on my computer n most of the computer guyz i have found say the heat sink is not required or they dont even know bout what is heat sink ..

MY pc really pisses me off sometimes like the last summer when i was playing NFS carbon ( with sooo slow graphics ) it took me 1/2 hr to complete a race n then at the end a blade of the CPU fan came off .. ( coz it was rotating at ultra high supder duper sonic speed ) .. brrruuummmm so much noise..

Letme know if i need a heat sink also ..

I bought some Fans ( small fans ) .. wich i put on the cage of the CPU 2 of them but they dint make any difference i could see them rotating .. but the noise of the CPU did not go down ...

MyPC is usually 24/7 on.. dowloading torrents and softwares n stuff ..

Please reply soon coz i live on the 4ht floor n if i dont get my PC good ill throw it down the balcony .. arrrggghhhhh booomm
 
Learn to use good spelling and grammar, and maybe you'll do well at exams and your folks will gift you a good PC.

Seriously. At your age you should be studying hard, doing well at exams and making lots of friends, not sitting in front of some dork monitor and playing stupid games. You'll have plenty of time for that later, when you get too old to have any friends.

Go get a life, kiddo, and I mean that in the best of ways. Don't look back later and think of all the good things you COULD have done!

Edit: And stop downloading torrents and software. It's illegal, and you could get into trouble. Today's kids. Sheesh!
 
cummon man.. all my friends play these games.. n they all talk bout it in d skool . i dont wanna be left out ( wich i am currently ) .. please tell me any good config for the PC ??
 
Listen to me kiddo - you're too young. Just because your friends talk about it doesn't mean it's cool. Don't get into the one-upmanship game so early in life. Make a good choice now and study. I know it sounds like I'm preaching, but trust me, the guys on this board will back me up on this.

Also note the point about spellings. Use a spell checker, for everybody's sake, and punctuate correctly. If you can't be bothered with working at little details like that, you're not going to get very far.

It's cool to be good at studies. Later in life you wish you had paid more attention in class.

This is my last post in the thread, you can do with my advice what you will.
 
I have nothing to say but to second sangram. Trust us, you will get to play all the KEWL games and do cool stuff with your computer when you are in college. Till then, just stick to what you have, and concentrate on your studies.

yes correct :ashamed: mine too i feel dumb that why
i don't play heavy games because it doe not suvirous for long time waste of time and energy and weight stop think about some hardcore gaming while you are at cafe don abused many friend is not good idea for bragg many member or you will get suck at you education
even there are many studies age 12-18 age who left the school past 1 or 3 week
while they move somewhere you lan gaming cafe play 2-8 hour cs and strategy games and spend money is waste of time and energy or you parent are worried about you eduction when you complete you studies stil the exam start on april then you can get new rig on summer holiday :hap2:
i think you parent are spanked or rejected

Boy, you don't need a PC. You need lessons in grammar. Ask your mummy to arrange for a couple of tutors

To "sukhusukhu" : I hope you don't leave this forum thinking "Eesh, I asked for some upgrade advice for my comp from all these gaming freaks and they tell me to study!?!? Are they my parents??!!"

Answer to that: No we are not. But the fact that even people as carefree, young and freaky are worried means that something is definitely wrong here.

Dude, study now and change this sentence to "I got great marks in my exams and outscored every bugger out there and would love to upgrade my PC."

Its okay to want to game and such...as long as it doesn't become your life. :)

btw there are many kid age 12-19 who left school and play lot of game daily at cafe center so they never bored about studies ;)

at 20-25k u can go for this combi....

motherboard included

palit nvdia 7050/7025 board - 2.5-3k.....can take from phoenix
intel e4500 - 4.7k
2gb ddr2 ram - 1.8k
msi/galaxy/other 8800gt 512mb stock - 14k
some good psu

now if you are not at all ready to change your motherboard and ddr ram then

just take

8600gt ddr3 with tv out/ s-video at 5-5.5k for moderately good gaming coz 8800gt is a overkill for your cpu

at the bottomline..

boss i was also super enthu abt gaming and hardware from childhood...and i'm still.......but i went to india's top engg school majoring in electronics and can afford to buy new gaming rig every month now...

so play games but study smart..it will help in the long run

Thank you for all your valued comments. You guys have really induced inspiration and jest to study harder. Next time when i open a thread it would be for a PC upgrade which would have a higher budget and prior consent of my parents

lol...wats wit dis gramer shyt man...its jus a cool slang lingo wch v all use in sms n chattin n stuff :P plz leav da poor boi alone...he jus wants a pc to do tp...actualy gamin a gud way 2 get ur mind of xams u failed :P (DEVIL HIMSELF WRITIN DIS) [ btw devil also got bad englisss n phailed in skool] :)
 
This is the results of parents letting their kids take mobiles to school. SukhuSukhu (inspired by Shammi Kapoor?), tell your parents that it is they who are responsible for you not doing well in your exams. Or better still, make them read the comments on this page. You will probably end up with a better PC. :p
 
no all the ppl here are bothered about his english and grammer as of they all are son's of Queen Elizabeth and have mastery in Grammer. Rather than solving his problem all idiots are making fun of him. Just have some guts and help out this boy rather of making fun of him...

Writing good and clear in English, or for that matter in any other language, is not prerogative of the Queen. Conveying your thoughts clearly, even when you are using 'ghetto talk' or SMSes — as they term it — is not a luxury but a necessity.

Nobody is making fun of this kid. It's clear from his post that he is not what he seems to be. This is nothing more than a fun thread. I doubt if this chap really needs to upgrade his PC.
