Hi All,

I am using this desktop for quite some time and planning to upgrade it. Not sure what to keep and what to sell away. Also I am not sure what will be the maximum/minimum amount i can get for selling this configuration. Could some one suggest on this? I will use it for watching TV, gaming mainly adventure,strategy and RPG with excellent graphics settings and browsing/downloading.

Please advice
Thanks a lot in advance!

sell your existing components except Tv tuner card, keyboard, mouse, speakers, DVD R/W, UPS. Proccy+Mobo(3.5-4k)+RAM(2.5k)+Monitor(2k)+GPU(2k)+ you can get ~10k. So for a budget of 48-50k i would suggest

Processor: Intel Core i5 750 - 10.25k

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 - 6.75k

RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB 2GB) 1600MHz DDR3 - 3k

Cabinet: CM Elite 334 - 2.4k

HDD: Seagate 500GB SATAII 7200.12 series - 2.3k

SMPS: Corsair VX 550W - 5.5k

Monitor - Samsung 2233 22" - 9k

GPU - ATI 5770 - 11.5k

Total of 50-51k and a great rig for gaming with the core i-5 and the ATI 5xxx GPU. Add 2GB of RAM latere when DDRIII RAM prices decline.

@Karthi: Thanks a lot! Whats the major difference between 4890 and 5770? I heard 4890 can do good if OCd. Is it true? Do you recommend any specific cooler for CPU?
@salilrane: India - Hyderabad - Kondapur

Also , does anyone know where i can sell my current config for a good price in hyderbad??

No need of cooler if you do not plan to O.C more than 15%. The 5770 is a DX11 card, 40nm card whereas the 4890 is DX10, 55nm card. So the 5770 is future proof(atleast until the next directx release)

Thanks a lot Karthi!

Does anyone know where i can sell my current config for a good price in hyderabad??

Please help. Thanks!

Just to keep it all future proof without having too many sockets to deal with, go for the AMD solution. A 785G board with Athlon II X4 620 or a 790FX Board with Phenomm II X4 940/955. This is based on the AM3 socket which is nowhere near dying in the near future unlike Intel socket which aren’t even compatible with each other that exist.

@Otpsurvive: I bought a i5 with MSI-p55-cd65 on saturday ! :(
I hope it does not change too much.... Atleast i can put upto i7 975 extreme down the line. Right? not sure about i9s and others that follow!

No you can't put a Socket 1366 processor in a p55 board it will need an x58. And i guess you should have taken some more advise. Just me though.

@Salman: THanks salman! Though i dont have a choice now to go back and change all :( ! I think i can still use i7-860 and i7-870, if not 975.
