Upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1!

A day before had downloaded the 6.1 version from xda forum. I was very eager to flash it on my phone (HTC S620) however due to circumstances couldn't. Well today in the morning I did! Those 10 mins of upgrade, let me tell you, are thriller! Your phone is no fragile at that time, after I hit the "Go" button, I was 3 feet away from the laptop and phone. I wouldn't allow anyone to get near!

So here are the crux of the experience.

Improvements:

  1. Homescreen
  2. Overall menu navigation
  3. Zippy execution
  4. Variations in alarm clocks
  5. Flash! :ohyeah:
  6. M$ Voice Command
  7. M$ Office (Cant create all the kind of docs)
  8. Foxit PDF Reader
  9. Audio Manager: Audio Quality has improved(may be due to better codec).
  10. Better Task Manager
  11. FTP Over Bluetooth (However I have written my own application of FTP over WIFI :ohyeah: )

Ohh yeah! totally forgot after the installation, one needs to install Tegic eT9 US English.CAB in main memory to fix a small keyboard issue. Post that this small dude rocks!

Gr8, will look out to get my P3300 updated on weekend. Is it also available thorough in-built windows updater ?
 
Any body tried to flash a P 3400 to 6.1

Has anybody tried to install the CUBE on a non-Touch device

I have the same one (P3400) .. looking to flash it to wm6.1.. does anyone know how to ?
 
I'd upgraded my P3400 to WM6.1 a month ago i guess.

Plus points
Much faster
looks slightly better

Cons
i'm unable to connect to my PC's net via usb now. (want to use that and net via bluetooth badly)
I do NOT like the threaded sms feature

I'm thinking about downgrading to WM5 :|

Flashed a Touch Dual a month back. Can't compare with v6 as I hardly tried that. Flashed it straight out of the box as I had read about the improvements.

Btw, the Dual was a friend's piece! Crappy video. It seems the discrete graphix does not work as HTC has not provided proper drivers for it. A patch for proper utilisation of the graphic chip was supposed to be launched in April after lotsa complaints and threats of a class action lawsuit from Dual owners :ohyeah: . Will have to check up on it.

well, its possible i might change phones later on, so i want my messages to be intact.. this threaded message thingy scares me because already a secondary group sms software is not recignizing my inbox now :(

ahh hmm I understand now...I backup my SMS when flashing, however havent felt the need to read from them, so no problem... they are there if I need them though.

^ thanks for the heads-up.. i found it.. it works :) i've tried that Modesms thing

Now ONLY if i could get that internet from my PC working via usb, i'd be one happy guy :(

About the internet from pc.. works like a charm for me !

Whats your Network Settings on the phone like ?

Set it to "My Work Network"

Should work fine i think !

Hmm am still on it and am no way going back right now... seems mileage varies with each phone.
