Any DDR 2 RAM stick should work, all are backwards compatible in case if your mobo does not support higher speeds. Be ready to shell out a preimium though as availabity is low..

Okay, which chipset is your processor running on? To find these details please download CPU-Z from here. Once downloaded go to the motherboard / chipset TAB and post its screenshot here.

I think using DDR II principles it should be a 667MHz module that is currently on your motherboard. Just get the details from CPU-Z, post the appropriate screnshot, motherboard details and RAM details and we will be able to help you.

Also note DDR II modules are almost double the price of comparable DDR III modules, due to lack of production and EoL status for the same.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

No for that you will have to --
  1. Buy a new motherboard for your current processor based on the Intel G45 / P45 chipset.
  2. Overhaul the entire RIG.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

Ok ... So which one is compatible ...??? in DDR2 ??? And it should be available in Amazon ...

Which one is compatible with what?

Stop using this broken SMS lingo please, it is annoying and now it has me fluxed.

Why do you want to buy stuff off Amazon?

Sorry to annoy you, but I am not a tech geek ... I just need to know which RAM is compatible with my desktop and I want it to be available in Amazon coz it is a whole lot cheaper ... ok ?

Get the same brand ram if possible, as you have i your computer. You can see the brand make in cpuz. Compatible ram would be ddr2 667 and ddr2 800 MHz sticks. get a ram kit from kingston, gskill or corsair if you're not sure. make sure the packaging has pc2-5300 or pc2-6400 written on it. pc3-10600 ram is ddr3 ram and not compatible. only pc2 ram is compatible.

OT: if amazon prices feels a lot cheaper, do you stay outside india?

That is fine, but the only RAM compatible with your current set-up is DDR II.

Now if you want to upgrade RAM, you have 2 choices --
  1. Upgrade the entire RIG to current standards.
  2. Upgrade with more expensive DDR II RAM now and go for a RIG overhaul later.

So tell us what you wish?

Please download CPU-Z from here and check the brand of your current RAM. If you are not sure, post a screenshot here and let us have a look.

Okay I did not know Amazon was cheaper, where are you based. If you think the prices on Junglee.com are good they do not take into account shipping from America, so prepare for infalted bills.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!
