upgrading from n13u B1.. to what?

yep what 2 jump to now? i was running them on stock firmware, maybe i shouldve tried ddwrt. ne way. they r sold now to another forum member. and i need to get something with moar power that can handle a couple of phones and 3x laptops without any issues. flat area is round 2500sqft .. a router that hopefully covers it. the last setup of two n13us used to work but since i had dropouts .. i couldnt really use it.

things i have - 1x beetel modem + wifi from airtel 450bx1 i think. / 1x tplink 8817 usb modem. (for now)

@toxicdrift - Asus RT-N12HP looks ultra ugly to me...the antenna's are outrageous, and no USB support.
The NT-R13u and Nt-R16u are legendary and pretty stable routers.

Why don't u try the RT-N16 router? This has a gigabit lan, DD-WRT support, 2 USB slots and better ranger

And this was with the second configured as a repeater.

What was the reason for the drop outs. Those routers had adequate range. Better than N16.

You've not mentioned any budget.

no budget as such, i can push and get soemthing that should work. n66u is stilll expensive @ 14k. but if it works i dont mind getting it or put 6k more in the 68u but if there is something that doesnt require spending and works.. i dont mind saving a few $$ :banghead:

We suggested that configuration because you wanted a signal in your sister's room.

Where in the house did these dropouts occur. Put up a floor plan as i have no clue why the previous config did not work. You never really got back to us after you bought the n13 pair.

have your requirements changed since last june.

I have an N66u. If the router is centrally located then you may be able to get a couple of bars throughout the house but don't expect any sort of video streaming to work smoothly. It has good range but not enough for my needs. I'm currently using it with a powerline solution.
