CPU/Mobo Upgrading my comp suggest how to save money

hi guys
i have the following desktop config-
intel 2.4 proccy
motherboard HIS motherboard
transcend 512mb ddr1 ram.

i mostly want to change my motherboard as i wanted decent grafics and also proccy if need arises

kindly suggest me
1. if i want to keep the proccy then which motherboard to go for.
2. if i want to change both then which but dont want to spend too much also.
amd and intel both is fine for me.

E2140 + Abit IP35-E + 8600GT + 2GB Transcend DDR2 667 + 400/500W SMPS POV/Powersafe/Amigo. U have to spend 17k minimum to get respectable rig. Sell UR whole dabba and buy this.

All depends what you want to do with your system, is it a bottleneck at present for the work you do ?

And I do not see any real vaule in just changing the mobo, total waste of money.

nevertheless...

2.4 intel...snd like ur stuck with a socket 478 ...intel has shifted to socket 775 a long time back.....so think of a new mobo and ur thinking of a new procc...

512mb ddr1 wont let u go anywhere...a min of 1gb is needed...and since ddr2 prices are low now its adviced u go for 2 gigs ...

if u aint thinking of ocing i`ll suggest an amd x2 4000+ on a jetaway 690 mobo..the combo shudnt cost u more than 5.3k

if u wanna decent gfx u shud look forward to the 8600gt gddr3 based cards....

budget is 6k for motherboard and proccy , i can buy 1gb ddr2 separetly as its da cheap, suggest me in amd as i want to try amd for the first time
 
What GPU do you plan on using ?

You did not mention if your present system is in sufficient for your needs and does it pose a bottle neck.

If you are looking at AMD, right now I near there is a batch of 5000+ black box edition CPUs available (multiplier unlocked) - Depending on your budget, that could be a good deal, but frnakly Intel had got AMD kicked in all departments except the VFM section, especially if you go the onboard graphics route.
 
guys he has aready said 6k fr mobo+Cpu

so have 2 choices.....

1>amd x2 4200+ at at 3.2k+ jetway 690chipset mobo M2A692-GDG at 2.6kmax..TOTAL IS 5.8K....

Asus M2N VM DVI Nvidia GeForce7050PV+nForce630a at abt 3.1kis also a good bet...

2.E2160/E1240 AT 1.6 &1.8 GHZ WORTH abt 2.7 & 3k...dat leaves us with 3k for mobo...in dis range u`ll get 945/946 chipset mobos...not adviced coz they have ddr2 667 supp only..the only good board is Palit N73V at 2.7k...
but watever mobo the stock amd will outperform the intel solution....anoder fact is decent amd mobos are far cheaper than their intel cousins
 
AMD X2 4000+ paired with Biostar A690G seems to be a decent combo
The 4000+ should be around Rs.2700
How much is the Biostar A690G?

Can't really trust Jetway & Asus both being distributed by Rashi.
