Upgrading to a new router

And you will be the third person i've discouraged form getting that wdr3500. The reason is easy to see. As the N13 has better coverage than the wdr3500. In that chart the 2700 & 3500 have the same chip as the N15u. So the result will be somewhere in between prolly closer to 2700.

I expect you will not notice too much difference in range between N15 & N13 but it will be noticeable between N13 & wdr3500.

HW spec wise..
wdr 3500 has 8Mb flash & 128MB RAM
n15u has 8MB flash & 64MB RAM

Dual band at this price range is not worth it unless you are in the same room. In fact i think dual band will be better when AC comes out because i'm not too impressed with the loss of range in existing 'N' 5Ghz models as the radio is not powerful enough.

You really need the extra bandwidth ? unless you have N300 5Gghz clients there is no point.

You need the extra RAM ? you already have the goflex to do your downloads

Why don't you try a tomato router for a change ? packages available are just the same between the two.

Bottomline: Cannot guarantee your problem will go away with a new router as we never found out what the original problem was.
