You can get a 512MB HD3850 for 8k easily! That's 200$$!

well if ur really in a hurry to buy a gfx card then HD 3850 it is but if u can wait go for the 9 series cards from Nvidia
 
Actually, KMD is charging 9K + shipping for the 3850, and I've placed my order through him.

I'm not an avid gamer anyways, so any difference between the 3850 and the 9600 would not affect me too much.
