Friends got a 600VA UPS fro my system, the default battery that came with the ups lasted for 3 years before finally dying (no backup), so i purchased a new battery locally, it was from Luminous, the dealer said that it is very good and comes with a year warranty.After few days back, the battery is too giving up , to practically worked for 1.5 years. Now i have to get one, which battery to prefer and why these battery don't last long?My system generally runs longTIA

so your luminous battery died after 1.5 yrs of use? cant say why it didn't last long.

If you're planning to get a new one, get an exide powersafe 9Ah battery. dimensions would be same as that of 7Ah one but capacity is higher.

Can i get 9A battery from luminous?

^ yes you can. get the battery with max capacity that will fit into your ups. Most probably the 9Ah would fit. Just check the dimensions to be sure.

The exide 7AH and 9Ah both have same dimensions. so i had recommended that. It looks same as above.

buy online? nopes, i dont think so. you can give back your old battery for 50 bucks or so too.

Interestingly I have a similar issue. My 2.5 year old UPS went kaput. Now I am not sure if it is the battery or the UPS itself, but I have been quoted 750 for an Exide 7A battery.

Another question is - what factors measures the battery life?
