UPS/INVERTER query

Hey guys,

I have a sukam sonic 600 VA inveter paired with a EXide battery for the house and a sperate APC UPS (ES 500) for my PC ......

da problem is that the UPS gives me only 10 -15 min ka backup .........

is it ok if i give the inveter connection to the PC so it would be like

INVERTER/ Mains --------> UPS ---------> PC

i dont knw if the inverter is a SINE wave inveter does it make any diffrence ???????????

would this in any way damage my PC ????????

please advice !!!!!!!!

You can connect it in the manner you represented.... In fact I am on similar setup on my Microtek Inverter + APC Back UPS + PC.... My inverter is Pure SineWave so it switches seamlessly most of the time & sometimes UPS kicks in when the voltage fluctuation is more...

A lot also depends upon your PSU & if it has PFC which in some cases causes havoc... On a regular PSU it will switch to APC UPS when mains are terminated & then it will come back to inverter for actual backup...

So you are good to go....

I dnt knw if my inverter is a Sine wave or not but does it make any diffrence while using it with the PC ........... What is PFC ............... i have a VIP gold 400W PSU

Not much difference only that Pure Sinewave is recommended 'coz it has the same frequency of mains... Its cleaner & will not cause buzzing noise from powered peripherals...

PFC is a conditioning tech which conditions the input power to conserve energy lost...
