PC Peripherals UPS or spike guard

Recently my pc went kaput due to some electrical problems in our area. So any one suggest me should i go for a UPS or a Spike Guard for my new pc.

The following below is my config

i5 2500
corsair 450w
8gb ddr3
240gb sata HD.

If some ups then which one in APC.

For that config a UPS wont be too costly.. And UPS will be a better option since you can save your work and exit.. Also, windows files wont get corrupted.. Check their website and choose according to your power supply requirements..
