Hello @Flamefist and welcome to Techenclave, a few clarifications --
  • Over-clocking capable motherboards and those that perform stable at those standards are not cheap.
  • Between an over-clock capable processor + motherboard majority of your modest budget is decimated.
  • Only go for over-clock capable RIG, if you are 100% sure of utilising it, else it is best you go for a non-over-clock capable RIG.

Non-over-clock capable RIG --
Intel Core i5 3570 ~14500/-
GIGABYTE-B75M-D3H ~4500/-
G.Skill RIPJAWS 4GB x2 1600MHz ~3200/-
Corsair TX v2650W ~5600/- OR Seasonic S12II 520W ~4200/-
NZXT Gamma ~2400/-

Over-clock capable RIG --

Intel Core i5 3570k ~15000/- + Cooler Master V6 GT ~3500/-
GIGABYTE-Z77X-D3H ~13500/-
[rest all same as above configuration]

Hope this helps, Cheers!

Superb advice, @ALPHA17 thanks a lot!!!

I have never OC before but I definitely want to try it. I bet the investment will pay off when I will be running an Ivy Bridge when Broadwell, Skylake or Skymont are out.(Too much?:happy26:)
The rig needs to be future proof. Processing power should be good enough for applications 4-5 Years down the line.

Am saving up for a graphics card, will buy 7850/ 560Ti(if you have any better, please suggest) after 2-3 Months. I only plan on having a single monitor setup. So not too keen on SLI/Crossfire.

Went to Neotech Computers, Opp Navrang Cinema in Andheri(W), Mumbai Today. Spoke to Navin.

Anybody buy stuff from this vendor before??

Got the prices for the following:

i5 3450 : Rs 11350/-
i5 3550 : Rs 12700/-
i5 3570 : Rs 12550/-
i5 3570k : Rs 14350/-

Asus P8Z77M : Rs 9600/-
Asus P8H77M : Rs 10250/-
Asus P8H77V : Rs 8600/-

G.Skill Ripjaw 1600 Mhz 4GB : Rs 1650/-
Corsair Vengeance Same Specs : Rs 1500/-
Corsair XMS 3: Rs 1450/-

NZXT Gamma Case : Rs 2200/-
Cooler Master 310: Rs 1825/-
Cooler Master 335: Rs 2300/-
Cooler Master 430: Rs 3000/-

Since I plan on connecting only 1 Graphic Card, is a 500W PSU Ample? or is more required?

Cooler Master Thunder 500W Rs 2850/-
Cooler Master CX 500W Rs 3300/-

Pricing seems decent.

I am more worried about service and after sales support. Anybody in Mumbai who provides awesome end to end support?

Overclocking will increase your budget drastically here as you have defined baseline of 30K for your build.
You will need to add after market cooler for stable and long term overclocking. Stock cooler will not suffice.

Since your usage matches with regular gaming and PC usage, I would advice once again think about going for OC rig. If you are keen to try out OC and it's due to sheer enthusiasm, OC has it's advantages for sure. But it will cost you significant amount and knowledge to build stable OC rig.

OC-rig :

1) Intel Core i5-3570K
2) Asus P8Z77-VLX (Better get ATX form factor board, if OC is there) or Gigabyte Z77X-D3H suggested by ALPHA17
3) G.skill RipjawsX F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL 2 X 4GB (IF looking to OC RAM also, check out RipjawsZ series.
4) NZXT gamma is fine here as suggested by ALPHA17
5) Seasonic S12II 520W.

Non-oc rig:
Suggested by ALPHA17

As you are gonna wait for GPU purchase, It's good, as ATI 8XXX and Nvidia 7XX series will be there in market. So no worries right now.

Cooler Master Thunder 500 W 2850/-

Most members prefer going to Lamington Rd. for a day rather than buy PC components from other parts of Bombay.

Between ASUS and GIGABYTE, I have a bias for the former but under your budget constraints the GA-Z77X-D3H ~13500/- is a worthy contender. For ASUS I recommend the ASUS P8Z77-V OR V-PRO ~15500/- -->17000/- respectively.

Between the two RAM modules go for the G.Skill offerings.

I have emboldened the Thunder SMPS because I strongly urge you not to fall for marketing fluff and get a decent SMPS like the Seasonic S12II 520W ~4400/- OR Corsair TX v2650W ~5600/-.

Here is a cheap SMPS review for you --> Cooler Master Extreme 2 475 W Power Supply Review | Hardware Secrets.

This build needs to be future proof(4-5 Years, CPU Processing power and for games at 720p).

For that do I need the OC Processor + Extras? (Also a GFX Card)

or

Is a 3570 (Or 3550, which is better?) with a powerful GFX Card but a regular Mobo(which Chipset?) a good choice?

Other than ASUS & Gigabyte, is ASROCK a good choice in mumbai?

As far as mumbai is concerned, there should not be any issues in after sales servicing, as most companies' RMA centers would be available there.

Without OC also you will easily be able to game and do regular task. IT's not that OCing will drastically change your Frame rate in game or hyper boot your PC.

When budget is restricted to 30-40K, it's wise not to think for 5 years boundary with good gaming requirement in mind. In 5 years lots of things will change.
Again, IF you are keen for OCing, go with already suggested components here.

1) 3570K
2) Asus P8Z77-VLX/ Asus P8Z77M/ Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
3)
G.skill RipjawsX F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
4) NZXT Gamma / Corsair 300R
5)
Seasonic S12II 520W
6) SSD - OCZ vertex 4 128GB @7.5K
7) GPU after 6-7 months

OC will increase my budget.

For 40k My budget will be ok for a Non OC Rig.

So suggestions for non OC Rig:

i5 3570 / 3550 (Which is better)
Mobo: ?
RAM Same or 1333
Corsair V430W/450W
Case CM or NZXT

Seasonic S12II 520W ~4200/-
