urgent: cannot install any app in windows xp

I just bought a new pc for office and installed windows xp, the problem is whenever i try to install any application, it gives some error...ms office 2k7 doesnt install and each time i try to install it , it says some file missing and the file name is different each time... what could be the problem ? if ram how could i test it ?

its quite urgent coz its my bosses pc :ashamed:

the problem when installing open office is this



and i know that its not the problem of the file coz the same file works in another pc.

Also kaspersky doesn't update and says database corrupted...
