which software 2 use to recover all data from external Seagate HDD.. plz reply urgently!!! The external HDD is not being detected by computer... help//

^^Or Getdataback for FAT if the HDD was formatted in FAT32.

Edit: Didn't see that it was not being detected. Can u see it in the Disk Management console (right click My Computer> Manage>Disk Management) ? For recovery to be possible, it would have to visible there. Try changing the casing, diff ports etc.

Its not getting detected by even the BIOS?

Same happened to me.. I used some el cheapo HDD casing for my 250GB seagate... and poof "Delayed Write Fail"...

a technician told me that.. some chip has gone bad on the HDD's PCB.. but how to fix/repair it... nobody knows

Give it to the servicing of Segate. I hope they will surely able to fix it up. Ahter all it is chip level error.

Open up the enclosure - usually its the enclosure thats gone bad. Connect the drive internally to a PC should be fine...

Check warranty status first. If removing, be VERY VERY careful as warranty could be VOID if you remove any stickers or leave signs of opening the casing.

I dunno, but say what i also use a el cheapo HDD casing -"Supercomp 2.0 USB" casing for my 3.5" SATA Segate 750 HDD.Numerous times have happened when the Hdd drive has shut itself up after sometimes/aprrox 10-15 min of use or even when data r getting written on it with a similar message like "Delayed Write Fail"... "...dunno what to take out from that, but have always re-started the hdd after that to get it back working GOOD. Checked with Seagate hdd check agent/acronis disk director & Hd tune, Not to find any fault. Lucky mayb!!!

** 1thing,i dont put the HDD within the casing enclosure, but rather leave the hdd open just attached to the control board of the casing!

^ Then you are in for a surprise sooner or later!

My case was same as you describe... one day my 250GB worth of documents, pix, music, everything gone!!

So better buy a nice reliable vantec or something like that.
