CPU/Mobo Urgent help - accidentally wiped off thermal paste!

i own a athlon x2 250. today while cleanning the dust i wiped off a greyish grease on the haetsink and the chip( what a fool!).was it the thermal compund? wat do i do now? i hv heard that removing the thermal paste voids warranty.plz help.

p.s. stranglely the temps havent gone haywire.:huh::huh:

yeah you removed thermal paste...

dats why temp gone up...

no warranty problem for removing d paste , but if cpu burns no warranty will be give...

if temp gone too up , buy another paste & use exactly how its been there...
