Hi!
i have a Tata broadband connection.
i have been given an adsl router from tata with a single lan connection which lets me connect it to my desktop/laptop using the ethernet card to use internet.
i have a D-link DI 524 802.11g/2.4Ghz wireless router which i want to use.
Following the instructions and running the installation/configuration wizard on it i am still not able to get the internet working.
i tried connecting the cable from the tata adsl router to the LAN 1 port of the D-link router instead of the WAN port and got my internet working.
i however cannot get internet working in my laptop. it connects to the D-link router but i can't browse the internet.
both the cable from the tata adsl router and the cable to my desktop are connected on the LAN ports in the D-link.
I tried changing the ip of the D-link router too and this didn't work either.
Any suggestions?

I think this is the reason why internet is not working in you laptop over wifi.
The cable from the tata adsl router should go into the WAN port and the cable from the LAN port to the PC.

when it was connected in the wan port i could use net anyways! when i connected it to the lan port i could use net on my desktop but not my laptop through wifi.

solved it by playing around with the options
set the router to always connect to pppoe with my user name and password
now its working!
