PC Peripherals urgent help on mobo !!

sounds really stupid but i made few scratches on the processor socket of my motherboard while cleaning as it had gathered a lot of dust and wuz restarting freq due to overheating ...now the cpu refuses to strt and the proccy got really hot (burnt my finger on accidental touch).... wat is the solution... are there separate sockets available or will hv to replace the whole mobo or both and approx prices ? its a pentium D on apestrope RC410 M mobo. plz guide !
 
Need more info about ur Processor,Motherboard .If u want to buy new proc+mobo then pls give ur budget so TE members suggest proc + mobo combo .
 
its a compaq 1928 desktop with apestrope RC-410 M mobo and pentium D proccy..being a student im on a tight budget right now and will be happy to get sumthing equal to the earlier combo. which mobo to go for ....gigabyte /asus or ne uder ? also has ne1 replaced mobo of a branded pc .... im wrried abt the ip/op slots also as they r slightly differently placed than the assembled pcs ...i guess
