Urgent Help pls...

i am about to buy the following router

eBay India: LINKSYS WRT54G WIFI ROUTER + WIRELESS (item 280442227510 end time 22-Jan-2010 15:46:25 IST)

main purpose for me is to use it as a repeater to my Ustarcom (type II modem from bsnl), but when i asked the seller he told i can use it as a repeater only by wired , as it has v7.0 firmware cant install dd-wrt firmware also.. is it so? im new to networking... pls help me.. i need a router urgently....

Seller is right. You cannot use this as a repeater. look for a 2nd hand dlink dir 300 or a wrt54g2 v1 and flash that with ddwrt. we can then help out with the repeater settings.
