guys there's a windows XP registry key which when set to either 0 or 1 (its default is the opposite one) allows windows to use ram as a greater priority and the page file more sparingly... Saw this in digit but an old issue, and read it maybe more than a year back....

Used it, was effective, was using 768 MB ram then, but I forgot the key since I'm formatting this sys after more than 8 months pls help...

whats the key, its location in the registry???

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

Under this tab you'll find all the keys pertaining to paging and memory performance. Experiment as you please.

The one you're talking about is the DisablePagingExecutive value. This will stop the loading of system dlls into the page file and will, instead, load them into the memory.
