Urgent - Mail manager for Android

I have been trying to set up my corporate mail account (office email) on my Motorola Defy using the inbuilt mail settings manager, Mail droid Pro and K9 mail softwares. I have tried using POP and IMAP settings and haven't been able to configure it successfully. My colleagues apart from 99% of the lot who can access it on their Blackberry phones use their phones (nokia C5, HTC wildfire, etc) and have successfully setup their mail accounts. Using similar settings I have failed to do so. We use Mozilla thunderbird to access our emails.
I run Cm 7.1 on my Motorola Defy. Some one please assist me.

Which server is your office using for hosting mailboxes ?
Depending on that we can know how to configure it on your phone.
BES uses the Web Interface of email servers which is mostly allowed from the internet. So that is why BB works without much configuration,

It turns out there is some problem with the OS. CM7's 7.2 rom for the defy and other phones have this problem of connecting to corporate accounts.

Don't believe things that people say. Its just that if you are good at mobiles it does not mean you are good at all things in systems.
I was able to configure my Corporate Email account on CM, dunno which version, when I was using it on my SG Spica.
Since SGS2 I did not need any Custom ROM so dunno about the current CM workings.
