First try by using some other power cable in place of the stock power cable that comes with GS600. You can use your monitors power cable to check. I am telling this, coz some of the first GS600's had a problem of loose connection, even a tiny push led to loose connection and the PSU would shut down.
If above isnt the case, then disconnect all the components from the PSU and then check it by shorting the green and black wire. You can watch videos on youtube for the method of checking PSU's.
Disconnect all hdd, dvd writer, gfx card etc & start the system, if CPU & PSU fan starts normally than you might requires more power PSU than your existing one. If nothing happens than you requires to buy New PSU.
1.Most probably it is PSU. I don't think that a 250 watt can handle your system. Also if thre is no GPU in your Rig. remove any add-on PCI card if it's there. Then maybe it can but i am not sure.
2.if not PSU then maybe Ram. Try removing rams and switching one bye one. Hope it helps. Try both and post back.
There's a very high chance that you've spoiled something when you ran Prime stress test. OR you took too much power from your mains which isn't made to handle such a load so check that too including earthing. Check the spike guard for any sign of burn marks(sparking marks).
Your PSU is showing signs that there may be a short circuit, so it's shutting down to prevent a major fire damage. 80% of the times it's due to sparking in some connection.
Check the 4-pin-ATX connector that's connected on the mainboard, the 24-pin Connector on your mainboard and all the 12V-molex or SATA connectors you've connected to your hard-disks/optical drives/fans/. Basically do as chiragsthakur has mentioned disconnect everything except PSU, mobo, CPU and RAM.
If there's still a problem it can either be your PSU or it may even be your motherboard or Ram stick.
1st disconnect the PSU completely. Turn it OFF using it's switch.
Short the green wire and the black wire of the 20-pin connector.
Connect only the PSU to your mains. And turn it ON using it's switch.
Now turn ON your mains.
Now any working PSU will start running without any board, in your case even if it runs it wont matter because you're PSU is not able to power up your system. So it needs to be RMAed.
Corsair's RMA is done by Kaizen Infoservices. If your PSU is less than a year old you'll get an off-the shelf replacement. Else wait for 3-7 days for a new replacement PSU.
Bill might not be important but the serial number IS, if your box mentions the name and details of the Indian importer then you wont have any problem.
sorry for second thread but need faster replys as my praticals are upon me and need my pc working + can't live without games
so now the things are going like this :
tried the smps green wire and black wire short today again and the smps started and ran a cm 120mm red fan with it for one hour and also tried my noctua cooler 2 fans and they are running right.
talked to chirag on phone and he told to check the system with other smps.
but again the local smps and iball smps have 4 pin cord and not the 8 pin cord which we connect in between the cpu cooler and the vga output on mobo .
it didn't worked so the ? is , is it important to have 8pin and not a 4pin jack [ x1 esp/ atx 12v in respect ] to run a pc , did took the mobo , cpu and ram to a local pc shop to check but he to have the same 4 pin smps .
so what now ?????
is my gs 600 still the culprat as chirag says or some thing else.
Yes, corsair gives replacement on the spot for 1 year old products provided they've it in stock.
If you don't want to deal with all this headache and you have spare time give the parts for RMA ,i.e, MOBO and PSU and hurry because the festive season is approaching.
If you had bought this system from Prime all your trouble would've been taken care off, so did you?
