CPU/Mobo URGENT - RAM query on Biostar TA790GX A3+

Just an urgent query on the Mobo i have bought

Does the board support DDR3-1600. Their side shows 1600 (O.C) - i dont understand what it means :S

I am planning to get Gskill Ripjaws from ITWares, hence this query. please reply at the earliest

As far I think it allows you to overclock upto 1600 but supports upto 1333

asingh - do u mean it will boot properly with these RAMS, but not run @ their rated speed unless i overclock it

I dont want to shell money on Gskill unless they are sure to work

Yes, it will boot correctly. Though not at 1600Mhz. You will need to go to the BIOS internals and make changes -- which is OC.

From all the replies, what I understand is, it will boot up fine but @ 1333 clock, but only when overclocked, it will reach 1600
am i right

Will a transcend 1333 4GB RAM make sense in this scenario, @ 1K cheaper. Are they Power RAMS

Which one will you recommend for me here, GSkill Ripjaws 1600 or Transcend 1333

See this. 1600Mhz is manageable. 1600Mhz is of course quicker, but the overall difference will not be too much. What are the price differences between the two.

Get the ripjaws then. Even if the gskill doesnt do 1600 it will 1333 at much tighter timings.
Gskills warranty is way better than the crappy local transcend warranty
