Urgent: TV tuner for monitor

can anyone suggest a tv tuner for lcd monitors? i need one which can take in coaxial,composite,s-video,dvi-d and also output dvi-d and vga.
brand doesnt matter. im looking for a cheap solution. chinese make will do.

please suggest one quickly. im leaving for lamington road now.
 
doesn't make a difference. pretty much all the tv tuner boxes you get are Chinese anyway.

Dvi-D input/Output might be a bit too much to expect from those Chinese thingies though
 
I have a Tech-Com External TV Tuner For LCD upto 1680x1050 resolution

its of very good quality comes with remote.

Accepts - VGA, Composite,S-Video,Coaxial, DVI can be used w/ DVI-to-VGA Adapter

Outputs - VGA, Composit, DVI can be used w/ DVI-to-VGA Adapter

you cant get DVI out with a DVI-> VGA adapter ;)

you'll need a VGA -DVI adaoter which are very, VERY hard to find , if at all they exist :P
 
I am using the same TECH-COM tuner with my LCD, works great apart frm just the one issue...... it doesnt really hav a composite input, rather a composite to s-video cable is provided alongwith to b used to accept composite video thru the s-video input. Now this cable provided is totally useless, i cudnt get it to accept composite video frm my set-top box, even when it did, the IQ was too bad.

Had to buy a s-video to 2 way composite cable separately for some 200 bucks to make thngs work flawlessly.
 
AFAIK, DVI-VGA is a one way conversion :)

even the VGA-DVI converters you get arent DVI-D. ( conversion to DVI-D is a lot harder)
 
hmm.. the tv tuner has vga female out.

The xfx dvi-to-vga conv I have has dvi(male) and vga(female)

so to use the tv tuner on a dvi lcd you need to have

DVI Destination <- DVI(male) to vga (female) adapter <- Regular vga cable w/ male ports on both sides <- VGA Souce (TV Tuner)



Right?

Ok tested and confirmed DVI doesn't work with this thing

It plugs in but gives a blank screen

i got a gadmei tv tuner. this doesnt have dvi. i had a feeling i was asking too much. nonetheless it does its job decently.
i didnt find any other tuner at lammy. this was the only one available. :(
anyways cable tv doesnt have such good quality, so vga will do fine. but i may be getting reliance BIGtv some time.

but whats the use of using a vga-dvi converter? the quality would still remain the same ie vga right?
