You have a bunch of options:

Best/free option is VirtualBox I would guess. http://www.virtualbox.org/

There is the most mature "VMWare Server" also free. http://www.vmware.com/products/server/

Then there is MS Virtual PC also free. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/

But I believe there are restrictions on which version of Vista you can run virtualisation - not sure if its just licensing restriction or its blocked by the software, just research and download them in order to try out... also the laptop's CPU might not fully support virtualisation features.

Dude download VMware Workstartion (you can google this VMware.Workstation.v6.5.2.156735.Incl.Keymaker-ZWT)and install it and then create a virtual machine according to ur requirements.

Once created edit the virtual device settings and in the cd/dvd drive section provide it with the .iso file for the win2000 OS.

Start the machine and ur installation for the win2000 OS will begin :cool2: .

@BlAcK_sQuAdRoN

yeah i heard its very popular...ill try urs first for vmware...coz hes in a hurry...thanks guys for the help!! let u know the result :D

There is no limit to the number of OS'es you can run, the limit is for your copy of Vista/2008 you can only run 1 copy in a VM and 1 on a physical machine, the rules are different for different versions of 2008 Server, for any other OS there should be no problem

1. get a copy of vmware workstation (the latest, u can get a 30 day trial on their site or get a keygen somewhere and make it full)

2. have a cd/ iso of windows 200 ready

3. run the os setup wizard in vmware, follow the step by step process and thats it!

time to setup vmware - 10 mins

time to install windows 2000 - 60 mins (you install the same way you install on a fresh pc - full setup)

njoi :p
