Some folks are crying cos they gettin only 1.5 mbps
"I would love to have faster internet, I live in a less populated area north of Colorado Springs and only can get 1.5Mbps down/896Kbps up from my Qwest DSL.....it's so slow compared to what I had before from Comcast."

I can't say I don't agree with that comment... I'm on 1mbps, and I feel the need for faster net access sometimes.

Here the FCC is really pushing for faster broadband services all over the country. They have promised 100mbit connections in 100 million homes. Lets see if they actually pull it off.

Indians and Americans think completely different abt internet guys...

Many of indians think Internet is waste of time..and many think Internet=Gmail,orkut,facebook! They don't realize that internet exsited decades b4 all those apps were created.

When it comes to americans, they treat it as necessity. Just like Food,Clothing,Shelter,Internet!

The difference in thinking makes it clear why we have such hopeless connectivity and why companies are not much interested in Internet services.

Only thing that can save us is.....3G! I have seen people getting 7.2Mbps on their Vodafone mobiles in UK.

So 3G(HSUPA-7.2Mbps) service at Rs.1500/month UNLIMITED(if they can't live without FUP..then around 150GB) will be superb compared to the current scenario.

So just lets hope that Indian Govt will auction 3G spectrum before......ah no more dates

We do have Hayai Telecom which in theory is as good as having a 100Mbit UL pipe.
With a 40GB limit one could surf the net like crazy,youtube HD and all and still have 10-20GB of download bandwith left.Rest I think would be easily available on the city wide lan hub which they claim would be possible.
Any Hayai beta testers in here? How are things shaping up?

We do have Hayai Telecom which in theory is as good as having a 100Mbit UL pipe.

Hayai seems to be going pretty slow as of now. Even IBF forum has not got much buzz about it. Hope to see things in action soon.

FUP is 5GB , no ISP gives unlimited access on 3G.

The only hope we currently have is hayai getting on track and actually starting to offer its *claimed* 100 Mbps service. Only then will India be able to join the big guns.
