Hello Techies :)

Am witnessing this issue for over a period of time !!!

It takes quite a long time to copy ( 2 GIG ) of file from my HDD to USB & USB TO HDD !

for a 2gig file it took over 8-10 Minutes of time am not blow away by speeds :( Disappointed , tried testing with various USB drives but the issue still persists ! :@

Wat could be wrong ???

Sys specs :

C2D e8400, ASUS P5KC, HDD 320 GB Segate !

^ Agree, but i also tested it once, it takes 8 mins to copy 2 gig file ( calculated the time from my stop watch )

Tried transferring the file with TERA COPY & Transfer rates were 4.8 mb/s ~

It's not the problem of windows 7,the speed of usb flash drives are slow..try using cosair flash drives,or use low capacity drives......Google for faster usb flash drives...

if your pendrive is working at good speeds in xp then its no issue in 7

try the backpanel usbs rather than front ones of cabby

it will surely help

If you format it using NTFS, the it shows very high speeds at starting, and will be like stuck for 1~2 mins when its 5 secs remaining. Actually FAT32 might be a lil faster and will show a sustained speed throughout the transfer, as long as the contect you copy is large files. Small assorted files will be really slow on both FS.

Use Corsair Voyagers. It gives avg of 13~16 MBps while others give 4~8MBps.

How much does a corsair voyager cost?My transcend does 10 MBps easily whereas my kingston sucks at 6 MBps and my friends Sandisk one barely does 3MBps

Voyager and Voyager GT comes with 10 yrs warranty and a rugged body. 16GB GT costs ~1.8k

IMO, go for normal Voyager. Ive both and i see only 0.5~1MBps transfer rate difference in both read and writes.
