I have a new WD-TV connected to my HDTV. I want to add a permanent external HDD connected to it as a kinid of "media tank". But I also want to be able to manage the content on the HDD from my PC without disconnecting it from the WD-TV.

Is there any Wi-Fi enabled USB 2.0 SATA 3.5 HDD enclosure? What I want to do is put a 2TB 3.5" HDD into this enclosure and connect it via USB to the WDTV and keep it permanently connected. If it's Wi-Fi enabled, I can also connect to this hdd from my notebook and manage files on it directly. Does anyone know if such an enclosure exists and available in India at what price?

Yeah, I did think about a WifI NAS box, but the problem is that I can't connect to the WDTV using a USB then.

As for the network firmware, unfortunately I only have a WiFi network in this location and the firmware is for wired only. :(

So back to my original question: USB+Wifi+3.5" HDD Enclosure?

Cheap Atom rig? fits in a shoebox. costs 3.5k for board+proccy. add another 650 for a gig of RAM. slap in wifi dongle and you are good to go

Yup, thought of that as well. But what I want is a small single device which I can place next to the WDTV and push a USB cable to it. An Atom rig is gonna be overkill for that. :)

I agree that this is WAAAAY to expensive.

A normal USB HDD enclosure costs about Rs. 400. Add on Wifi to it, it should be approx. Rs. 1500 MAX! - If such a thing exists! :)
