Storage Solutions USB HDD problem

Hai friends
I have a 160gb Signature mini External USB hdd . When it is working It disconnect regularly and produce a " tick tick " sound. I can not access the drive with out restarting . After restarting some times it take a long time to connect. What is the problem please help me

Could be a problem with drive itself,did u check it on anyother system ?

either OS corrupted or casing faulty..check both alternative

Most probably your disk is dying.

Either the cable may be faulty or it is the end of your hard disk!

That "tick tick" sound may be of your hard disks media, read write head, generally.

Try to get it replaced if it is in warranty.

Your mobo's USB port isn't supplying enough power to the hdd. Get a Y cable to power the Hdd with 2 USB ports. I'm 70% sure the problem will be solved.
