Audio USB powered laptop speakers suggestions needed

Need to buy USB powered laptop speakers. Which are the VFM ones available ?
How are X-Mini speakers. I think i will need 2 speakers or only one x-mini should do ??
If x-mini then which variant is good ?
 
Recently one of my friend brought a pair of X-mini Max v1.1 speakers for his laptop and I tried them for about 2 hours. From that memory I can say that they sounded really good for their size, sound was very clear and really loud enough to fill an average size room. It sounded its best when played at average volume, but when I increased the volume more than 80%, there was some distortion in the sound and the sound became very harsh. Otherwise it was very impressive. In normal cases, you will not need to increase the volume to that level anyway.

I havn't tried with just one speaker, so I can not comment on that part.
