YUP .. that JS dude is one of the most expensive places to buy computer hardware. Whatever they sell is mostly high priced. A cross over cable is not easy to setup - I have one installed and it was quite painful to get the computers to see each other. Dont forget with the crossover cable you have to include cost of 2 LAN cards

Now I use an external USB HDD to tranfer stuff between 2 computers - totally hassle free.
