I have Cable internet connection using gigabit network card and MTNL night unlimited connection ( dsl 502 t adsl router ). for now i can use only 1 at a time

1. Is it possible to utilise both connections at the same time on 2 Network cards on the same PC , how do i configure the network settings ?

Thanks :)

Are we talking of using 2 connections for load balancing,redundancy,fail-over or multi-linking[combining 2 connections].
If its the latter case then if I'm not wrong much of the settings, hardware has to be configured at the ISP.There is nothing you can do about it.And I believe with indian broadband standards you can pretty much rule out a slim possibility of a ISP doing that for you even for a lumsum.

As for the former, load balancing can be done by purchasing dual WAN routers & configuring accordingly.

I hope this below link will make it clear.

funny, but I distunctly remember this...way back in 1997-8, there was this cybercafe i used to visit who used to have a better than exected connection over dial-up...when we asked him his secret, he said he has combined three dial-ups running simultaneously on the machine he used to use as a server for the 5 odd PCs running as clients....however, he refused to tell us the software he was using for it......

try googling this, I think there surely shoudl be some or the other way the connections could be combined using a s/w based solution

So there should be some or the other

oh no...apparently this cannot be done for DSL/BB connections:

ncreasing Bandwidth

It was originally used for WAN links for corporations before high-speed connections existed. An example of this would be two 4Mb connections combined to make a single 8Mb connection. You would be able to download at 8Mbs from any site that could keep up. Some dial up ISPs also support multi-linking. This also requires to modems and two phone lines for obvious reasons. So you may wonder why companies and dial up ISP can combine multiple connections together but you can not. The reason is because this requires the ISP to recombine these connections back into one when it gets to their side. Almost all DSL and other broadband companies do not support this. This is most likely because of the expensive hardware it requires. The increased latency would also be unsuitable for gaming.

You are using the trial version of WinGate ?
or ahem...you know what...

no probs :)

hmm i have a query here.
i already have a 128kbps conn frm my cablewalla.....if i take the mtnl night unlimited plan i.e 256kbps.....then at night....if i connect both at the same time(using their respective clients) then will i get a dload speed of
30+15=45KBPS or am i getting this totally wrong?
[using two diff user accounts?? in XP]
or do i have to use wingate to combine the connections?
thnx in advance.
asky.

yes u can combine both connections n get 45kBps..but u'll have to use wingate..read that thread its very informative..
u'll get 45kBps on the sane d/l..but u'll have to use atleast 2connections/threads(like the download managers..)
i dont know abt diff user acnts..sorry..
