Hi,
I have an entry level HT system from Philips (LX3600D/69). Recently I am not able to play a few new DVDs (they may be DVD9 format e.g. Pirates of the Carribean).
The player is region free (unlocked on day 1 of purchase) and plays all other DVDs very well. Its only a few DVDs that it has started giving a problem for. The player just hangs and after cleaning the drive, it may play for 2-3 mins before hanging again.
Someone told me that instead of getting the player repaired, I can get a new DVD player and connect it to the existing one using the aux connection. My existing player has a 5.1 decoder built in. I need to know whether this aux connection thing is possible and does that mean that i can get a new non-decoder based cheap DivX player and still enjoy 5.1 sound from my existing player ?
I dont want to let go of my old player as it has the non-regular speaker connectors (not the RCA ones) for the 5.1 set.
