Using Galaxy3 as USB modem over 3G

Guys,

Can I use BSNL 3G connection on my Galaxy 3 to surf on my PC?:huh: If YES, How?

But tethering requires rooting, isn't it? Can it be done without rooting? How?

I wonder if the onboard flash memory will die an untimely death if you use it like a modem/router on a regular basis.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

yes you can surf with g3, go to androidmarket & download. "easytether".
it must be downloaded on phone & pc.

no rooting required.

btw why not u get 3g dongle

I don't plan to use it on regular basis, just back up for my wired BSNL Broadband, that's why I don't want to spend on Dongle.
 
Err. I guess it can be used directly , atleast i m using it . I select use phone as a modem option when usb is plugged in and my windows detects network and i can browse the net ..

p.s:- i am also using galaxy 3 only :)

Even i wonder so looking at how hot the cell becomes when i download smthing on utorrent for arnd 2-3 hrs

yes it will definitely kill your phone sooner while u keep it as regular basis .

thats why getting 2k dongle is better than killing 12k phone .

phone is meant to use as phone not as 24 hour router , no matter how expensive it is , when you use it as such "router way" it gets too much heat > very good for phone .
