Do you really want a casing or will just an adapter/cable do?
If you don't intend of carrying it around, just a cable will do and it will save you a lot of money.
I suggest you go for this one. It is for 398 but the shipping is a little high at 75.

On Monday i had been to Lamington road and bought that cable / adapter assembly to connect my internal HDD / DVD Writer to my laptop but that damn adapter was faulty and hence it never worked. Then today i went again to that shop to return that and the guy there changed that thing but told me that adapter ka guarantee nahi hota. I was like WTF... :@

Bought home the new one and it worked fine but i suppose the adapter was getting too hot upto the point that it was impossible to touch it. Still i was using it connected to my laptop and boom my TV shut off, electricity line tripped and some strange sound came :fear:

I check the adapter and it was burnt from the side down and my wooden table was also burnt.

I strongly recommend against buying this thing. Now i am not going to go back to Lamington road and have lost my 350 bucks.

Now what do i do ?? Where can i get the replacement adapter, the one which directly goes into the 4 pin power of the IDE drive

OMG....was it Tech com ?

BTW, i used that converter for my internal DVD drive(IDE)....so used the PSU molex for it...

Hey man try this Brando USB 2 Sata/IDE This one is more reliable. I have been using it since almost 2 yrs & also bought it locally cheap for around 700rs back then. BTW though the shop guy wont give warranty on the adaptor, he does give a testing warranty, open it up & have it checked in the shop itself.

Also this allows 1 ide + 1 sata at the same time :ohyeah:

Yes testing is there, he just plugged in the adapter and connected to DVD writer and open and shut the tray of writer. But this getting hot thing was something i never expected. Like in 5 minutes of usage the adapter was burning hot.

What you have given link is the same thing that i have now, just that the adapter brick now is useless.
