Hi,

I want to try to use my 2 DS3's with my Win 7 and thought this might help someone here. I have an onboard Blue tooth so I dont see it as an issue but it works with the USB cable or even with a BT dongle.

I have seen a few driver and software made by various people to get around to doing this eg. MotioninJoy or 'SixAxis Driver' or 'contorllermate'

One is with the USB cable and the other Driver is for using it directly using it over BT.

.....has anyone tried it...? I can post my findings once I get home but until then if anyone is using it please reply with you assessment.

Thanks a lot.

Cheers,

I have tried it using the USB cable. Not remember the what driver I used but I just want to tell you that its very much possible. When I used the DS3, it worked flawlessly.

I had tried the MotionJoy driver for getting the controller connected via wired connection. It was a nightmare trying to get it to work, ran into BSODS and my 360 controller's drivers got messed up in the process. Had to spend around 3 hours trying to fix it up. That was just my experience and I would rather stick to my X360 controller, rather than fiddling around with the PS3 controller.

^^ I somehow can't stand the Xbox360 controller...just a personal preference...

...thats why want to use the DS3.

I understand. You can find the installation tips on Google for the MotionJoy driver installation. It should support Bluetooth pairing as well.

But it wouldn't be natively supported by Games for Windows, right? I used to love my Dualshock too but after getting the hang of the 360 controller, I do feel now that its better of the two.

....we can always agree to disagree or like different controllers...."Natively support" I don't know so much about, but one can always map the controls...

With a bluetooth dongle, you can use it wirelessly too !

As from the original post, you can tell m looking for just that and have an onBoard BT.

Any one who has experience in using it via BT please post you experience....

Do the analogue sticks work in analogue mode? Or in Digital? What about the Analogue Triggers?
