USPS Shipment untrackable ??

Hi guys,I ordered some cases for my phone on 8/6/2012 and they were shipped through USPS(It wasn't ordered through Ebay)
I could track the shipping progress till 14/6/2012 and now USPS just stopped updating the tracking info

Now is this normal for USPS ?I haven't ordered anything from US before so i really dunno the procedure to track the shipment and how much time it really takes to get the item delivered
so any insight on this will be helpful...

It may take upto 2-3 weeks for it to be delivered in India.

Should i use the same USPS tracking number ??
Because i'm not able to pull out any info. with the tracking no. from USPS,it says "No information, please check your item identifier"
 
Yes, but tracking may not be available for all packages. AFAIK, tracking is available only for registered mail, which is a separate addon and has to be paid extra. So the seller wouldn't have opted for it.

I guess your only option is to wait a week or two and if it still hasn't come, contact the seller. If you paid using PayPal, if you need to open a dispute, you have to do it before 45 days of the transaction.

Hmm,I will probably wait till the month's end and then contact the seller
Yes,I did use paypal but will i still be able to file a dispute if i don't have an account.....I paid through credit card using paypal
 
^ Just use the same email address and create a PayPal account, your transaction history will be available and you can open a dispute if required.
 
It took around 45days for a USPS express box to arrive at my end (This was around couple of years back though). I contacted postal officials and they said that only the sender can request for shipment status officially. Finally gave up after around a month and thought it would never reach me. Got it somewhere between 40-45 days after it was sent.

And yes, information wont be available once it enters India. You can try using the # in indiapost site as suggested above.

Well,the seller did tell me that if after 2-3 weeks you don't get the package then i have to contact him
That is wht i'm gonna wait for and then probably get in touch with the seller,lets hope i get the package before that..:sleep:

For smaller stuff, chances of customs not being charged are good in USPS mails while that is not the case with FeDex, DHL etc as you will surely be paying customs if shipped through them. This might not be true always but is surely for most of the time.
 
Once it happened, i ordered some shirts from UK, they cost something like 45 GBP in total, arrived to me in 3 week time, the package was completely broken by local postman and eventually have to pay 1600 as custom :(

I created a paypal account using the same email address and i don't see any transaction history
So now,I won't be able to open a dispute if needed :scared14:

I have tried contacting the seller,lets see if i get a response from them regarding the package !!
