Utorrent too slow

Hi Guys,

It seems like Utorrent installed in my PC has been acting up lately. Even on torrents with more then 15000 seeds its giving me download speeds ranging from 3-6kb/s. I am on 256 kbps connection. Where is the problem ?

Make sure you are port forwarded properly, and check your connection settings

Yeah...check if ports are forwarded and also make sure Protocol Encryption is enabled.

1. also chk the utorrebnt settings.. have u restrcited the download speeds urlsef in teh settings?? chk all tabs..

2. Chk the port. Keep a port no. contsant & don't select random port.

3. Also see in ur modem settings if ur ISP is keeping a special port for torrenst etc. If yes, open that port for utorrent by chking the no. in correct tab

port forward is the best option. goto PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall. These guys have a step by step guide to play around with your router. Create a rule for torrents on your router

When you say 15000 seeds.. i guess its Public Torrent...

It happens quite often with Public Trackers.. Not Utorrent fault IMO...

maybe any cap on your connection!

If you have followed all of the steps above without any luck, I think its time to change your ISP

I have a funny issue on my reliance connection down speed is around 60-100 and my up is 2-4kbps (I have not restricted the up speed it is set to unlimited)

where as on my another system with airtel same torrent gives proper up and down speed

Try this :

Go to C:\DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS\(USERNAME)\APPLICATION DATA\UTORRENT

, Copy all files(backup them) and then delete them all.. then start the torrent download again and save the file to the same location so that utorrent checks the integrity of the download. It has worked for me on some occasions although I don't know exactly why.....probably because public trackers may restrict dl's once one downloads beyond a certain quantity of data from them without seeding enough.
