V. Anand wins World Chess Championship

^ It was declared before the cricket match had even commenced.

It was wonderful game, I always followed all the 12 gmaes live.

Anand produces an excellent play yesterday, and a blunder by Topalov on 32nd move allowed anand to expolit weaknesses of white.

Kudos.

Its sweet justice finally. When he had won FIDE's world title in 2000, many refused to recognize his ascent to the top because the tournament was devoid of Kramnik and Kasparov. Then last year iirc, again when he won the title beating Kramnik (this was the result of a rematch awarded to Kramink following an earlier head to head where Anand had beaten Kramnik for his 2nd World Title), FIDE' made sure he would have to defend it yet again by playing the Bulgarian Veselin Topalov in classic match format. Kudos to Anand to have done it in style, with Black pieces at that.

So while earlier he was lauded world over as the finest rapid format player ever, this should surely put to end any doubts about his prowess in all the formats and against all players.

Surely a legend of the game.
