Vaio vs DV6

Im looking to buy a laptop, max budget is 50k INR

Requirements

500GB HDD

4GB rAM

Core i5 CPU

Usage is S/w development (s60, android, etc) and programming. Movies and music. No gaming.

My choices are

CPU Screen RAM(gb) HDD(gb-rpm) GFX NumericKeypad HDMI eSATA USB Wifi/BT Card Reader PRICE (k)

VPCEB1AGG i5 - 520 15.5 4 320 - 5400 Intel HD Y 1 1 3 Y/Y Y 50

DV6-2159TX i5 - 430 15.6 3 500 - 7200 Geforce512 Y 1 1 3 Y/Y Y 50

Need help in deciding. Im inclined towards HP vs Vaio but cant decide. Totally confused.

Pls help

Also if I can get a friend to get a laptop from USA, are HP and Vaio laptops covered under Intl. warranty?

Just on further googling, Hows Lenovo Y series Y460 Ideapad with exact same config as Sony ?

try to go for vaio, reasons - you dont need a discrete GPU, also 520 over 430 is a marked advantage. less space is not really a disadvantage. also, a gig of extra ram never hurts.

and the single most important reason- HP After Sales SUCKS!

coming to the question of imported laptops, neither would cover your warranty. But sony might at least be less rude. HP outrightly dismisses you. Dont expect human treatment from them.

Lenovo build quality is fine.

All in all, if i were you, sony would be my bet. Good luck, mate!

Review:

Looks : gorgeous.
Keyboard : perfect
Screen : awessome
Mousepad : average, matte finish, not super sensitive. I will use a wireless mouse anyway, so wont matter.
Build quality : Impeccable. Except the wireless switch which is a bit flimsy.
usage : Super fast.
Vaio gate utility on top is a bit irritating, prefer disabling it. Mcafee Internet security, MS Office 07 trial, Adobe Elements,Roxio DVD burning utility, Web cam software provided.
OS : Win 7 PRO 64 bit.
Vaio update: provides good update list. Will perform the update today.

CPU : Core i5 520M
HDD : Toshiba 320GB
Optical : Optirac DVD burner
Card reader : Roxio
Graphics : Intel HD 128MB
Wireless : Intel Wifi and Foxconn bluetooth
Ethernet : Marvell

Recovery utility provided which says it will create 4 DVD's in case of format. Yet to create it. So i guess i can restore the laptop to factory settings with them.

Charger with two types of plugs
WinXP SP3 PRO CD.

create the utility disks ASAP.

Also, you could have done moer than gorgeous, perfect and awesome for the first three parts of the laptop! :)
