check this article for the detail news.

here's the video

"funding is coming out of community for games and game concepts they really like." - It can be a sort of share market kind of idea

i don't see it working out. just because the massive legal commitments and hassles that it would bring into the picture.

besides, isn't think what episodic gaming was supposed to be, in a way?

Ya saw this last night.I dont think this will work. Too many datails to still need to be clarified.I dont want to give my money to someone, only to see it vanish for years and then get it back with little incentive or profit after years.Besides games arent always good even if they look good in gameplay videos and add campaigns and this takes it back another step to just an idea. Its like sayin i have this great money making idea give me your money to get it working.

IMO it could work out abroad, but here in india, i got a single word for them... IMPOSSIBLE !!! :)

Its an interesting concept though, and yes lots of complications will be involved, people putting in their money would want a type of game they like not what valve wants to introduce..lol thats just 1 of the issues...besides people who are only long term investors would be willing to wait patiently...not others lol..

VALVE has just started to put a thought to this. I am sure there creative heads and business teams will churn out a scheme which will make us go "WOW!" , and "I wish this was in INDIA" .

Off course there are legal implications , but VALVE out of all the developers are more than capable of handling that.

Even when steam was introduced , everyone had apprehensions but look at it NOW !!

The thing i liked most in the interview was VALVE's or rather GABE's take on "PIRACY" , amazing thought process and reasoning.

+100 .. exactly,,people try to resist change and thought initially IMPOSSIBLE.Company like Valve can think such a idea since they are very much into quality game development and so they have the confidence on themselves what they can deliver and on their fans and customers. The Legal Implications is only a matter of time.

good luck Valve:hap2:
