Right on. As the article points out, its high time PCs move out from enthusiast to mainstream category, as far as gaming is concerned. There are tons of people on tight budgets.

What if Half Life 3 was released only on Steam Box and PC now?

There is a pic of the rumored prototype unit doing rounds in the internet since a week now and that looks like a high-end spec'd PC cramped into an HTPC enclosure. If this is the case, I don't suppose HL 3 (?) could be out only on the Valve Box or Steam Box or whatever this device is called. There should be an alternate mechanism to ensure that the game runs only on this so called console.
