Hey guys I was formerly a non vegetarian but reading online about the drawbacks of eating meat, I have decided to opt for full plant based diet.
there's also various problems at having just vegetarian diet so have decided to decrease the amount of eggs, milk and other dairy products as much as I can.
now I'm quite happy with the diet which I am having, at home I feel no problems at all as it is easy to prepeare vegan only meal. but the problem comes when I have to hang out with friends or having a meet. most of the places for eating out are either fast food, non-vegeterian or dairy products based.

anyone who can suggest some good vegan places?

Eat fruits and vegetables off the markets, carry some spices to get a zing to them. You can prepare a sort of on-the-go Salad. Carry them in your bag and eat them while your friends are munching their 'tasty' treats.

Almost all indian fast food, even a lot of stuff from Taco Bell, Subway etc should fit within the vegan restrictions fwict. Besides if the OP turned vegan for health benefits then why not just make an exception when hanging out with friends?

As a vegan, your choice are bit limited if you want to eat outside. I think you can ask the waiter to not put any animal-based product in the dish you ordered.

Many places like Pizza Hut have salads. They are quite scrumptious!

Fast food: Veggie burgers without cheese.

Almost all "chaat" stuff without the "dahi"

Beware of raw veggie stuff - eat that only in places that has good "movement" - that alone ensures freshness. I am a veggie and had a bad experience at Subway.

Well first of all the advantages are very less significant..people consume it mostly for the taste, and delicious nature of the meat and dairy products. the nutritional value can easily be compensated by leafy vegetables and fruits. dairy and eggs contains high amount of Cholesterol, whereas vegans do not consume any cholesterol as cholesterol is a compound that is only found in animal products, one may become prone to low levels of healthy cholesterol. but it can be compensated by incorporating healthy fats in daily diet and exercise..
many people argue milk is the best source for calcium and having healthy bones but plant sources are richest and most absorbable forms for calcium. also.. this You Can Thank High Protein and High Sodium Diets For Your Bone Loss - Evolving Wellness | Holistic Optimal Health
and also these reasons : Vegan Video - YouTube
there's lot more reasons than this.. particularly for preventing diseases.

I don't hang out much. but occasionally have to visit out, I'm not generally fan of fast food and all.. even of my pre-vegan days i rarely visited dominos , subway etc. I'm daily having fruits at home. but taking it out is a good idea. thanks :)
Indian food joints are somewhat better at this, I enjoy the south Indian and chaat etc.

as Jambumali pointed out yeah. it seems vegetarian places normally don't have much movement except for pure veg places. at multi cuisine restaurants people are ordering non vegetarian 90% of the times. so have to check on that.

Dude, not a products available outside are non-veggie.. I am all time vegan and often hangs out..
Have u decided not to have any fast food ??
Isn't things like subway have most of the vegetable inside them??

@OP: Forget about trying to be Vegan. You can only be vegetarian to some a level of degree possible to you, being a true follower of vegan philosophy is impossible as its merely a theoretical thing. nobody can be a true vegan in practicality. The people who thinks they are adhering to vegan philosophy are just self delusional.

The basic premise of vegan philosophy is that you should not consume any food derived or containing directly or indirectly from animal matter and not just limited to meat. So by that logic, a true vegan cannot consume common salt as that contains a lot of animal matter because of its origins. How many vegans avoid salt? Also all plants and plant derived foods contain animal matter that the plant takes in from the earth. So you have to ensure that you grow your plants without using any soil/earth (all earth is contaminated with animal matter) and also use only pure plant waste (devoid of animal matter) as manure. Even if somebody follows all that, they would still not a true Vegan as there are a bunch of other ways that you ingest animal matter. It is practically impossible to be a vegan.

I agree here,it is not easy to be a vegan
Most people commonly misunderstand the term "Vegan",Vegan is not Vegetarian

Try being a Vegetarian where in you can consume milk and other dairy product which would keep your health and won't upset your stomach with the sudden change in diet
I'm a Vegetarian and i love being one,not that i haven't tried and tested Non-veg food which only includes Chicken and Prawns but they just don't suit my natural diet and my stomach gets upset so i stay away for pure health reason

I have heard and seen so many people getting converted to either Vegetarian diet or they go completely Vegan which is kinda too harsh a move if it comes suddenly

what a weird world --- I have loads of vegetarian/jain friends who take to eating non veg quite voraciously at weddings/office get togethers while preaching a holier than thou vegan attitude in front of their families. some go the extra mile by having beef and trying out new stuff where there's no one to police them or make opinions about them. all that holistic / healing sh!t is hippy gay crap. eat what you want --- exercise/workout/walk/maintain fitness and be happy. don't get fooled by all the rubbish preached at satsangs and what not by our self proclaimed pseudo intellectual retarded religious gurus who have a more profit oriented business motive than the most capitalist of capitalists.

to anyone who would want to counter my statement please give me meaningful answers to the following questions and not stupid rhetorical answers:-
[1] If plants are living beings capable of breathing as is taught in lower kg - is it justified to eat plants/vegetables? is it not akin to taking a life , like sacrificing the potato to make a vada?
[2] How does eating eggs become a part of a vegetarian diet? is it not killing the yet unborn chicken?
[3] How does consuming dairy products of any sort fall under a vegetarian diet? is it not a by product of animals? is not wrong on your part in cannibalizing the milk meant for young calfs?
[4] Breathing kills living beings/micro organisms which is akin to murder and unknowing although mandatory consumption of living beings. would you agree if not will you stop breathing?

I guess OP just watched Forks over Knives. I'd advise not to completely leave non-veg diet as we don't have enough veggies in all seasons in all parts in India. Rather, build a habit of mainly veg based diet but take non-veg as well but in limited quantity and frequency. Also, its not just the meat which is harmful but the preparation, spices and oil which do the more damage to the body.

First of all, let's not start a Vegetarian vs Non-Vegetarian clash here
I agree, there are people out there who claim to be "Pure Veg" breed but they do eat Non-Veg food majorly Chicken(some of my friends consider chicken as the ONLY Non-Veg which is kinda stupid) :p
Some of your points mentioned are justifiable here
I really dunno how many of you know this but there are multiple categories under a Vegetarian diet which include Eggs as well as Dairy Products
So going by the actual meaning a Vegetarian diet can have eggs and diary products along with vegetables

The categorizing thing is just confusing dude, you just can't pin point one single item
