Hello All,

So.. The place I stay in mysore. I have a very small. Keeps in Laptop, 2 bookshelf style speaker, the power strip, mouse etc and a small arm rest space.
Very small.

I am getting a 23" LCD soon coz my eyes are hurting from watching the laptop screen always. :(. but i dont have space. I was going through the net and
found something like vertical laptop stand for mac. You close the lid and just keep it vertical like a book.

Any thght? Any ideas how I can get this in India? Any issues for the machine?

Any help as usual will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Your neighborhood iron furniture store can probably do something a little less fancy and pricey.

Pick a monitor that is VESA compatible, and mount it on the wall. Your laptop can be tucked away anywhere below it. If you feel rich enough a carpenter can create a small shelf for you to vertically stack the laptop away. Two/three L- shaped wooden strips with decent padding on three sides should be fine, you can slide your in from the sides (nameplate style) or drop it in from the top (like a card holder).

Note that laptops may not operate properly with the lid closed or the bottom obstructed for extended durations. For a lot of machines the keyboard is also used as an inlet for cool air. Be sure that the laptop can be used to operate at full speed for intended durations without the lid being opened. Obviously you have to switch the laptop's screen off when the external monitor is connected.

I cant drill on the wall. For rent, landlord wont allow. :(.. I think, didnt ask. :(... Perhaps I should.

The carpenter trick sounds neat. Will look around. Thing is no one will touch this small job. They will always be busy busy. :(

Eeek. Didnt knew the keyboard is also for cooling. I keep my laptop on, with cooler under it. and lid closed.
